We can tailor a broad range of coverages to fit your needs.
The following is provided as general information about policies available through AAA. Of course, if you obtain coverage from us, the actual policy and endorsements, when issued, will determine the limits of your coverage.
Mandatory Coverages:
Liability Insurance
Pays when you are legally liable for unintentional bodily injury and also covers property damage to others
Minimum coverage limits on mandatory Liability Coverage are set by law. Higher limits are available at additional cost.
In Illinois, the minimum limits are $20,000 per person, $40,000 per accident for bodily injury and $15,000 for property damage. In Indiana, the minimum liability for bodily injury is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident and $10,000 for property damage liability.
Optional Coverages:
Medical Payments
Medical Payments coverage pays for reasonable and necessary medical and funeral expenses incurred within one year of the accident, no matter who's at fault, if you and/or occupants in your car are injured. It also protects you and household relatives if injured in someone else's car, or by a car as a pedestrian.
Uninsured and Underinsured Motorists
Pays damages for qualifying bodily injury when you are legally entitled to recover from an uninsured or underinsured motorist. These coverages must be offered with every liability policy. In Indiana, you must sign a special waiver to eliminate them from your policy.
Uninsured Motorists Property Damage
Illinois state law requires that coverage for uninsured motorists property damage be offered to all autos with property damage liability coverage and no collision coverage. In Indiana, the state law requires that this coverage be offered only when uninsured and underinsured motorists coverage is purchased.
There must be actual physical contact of an uninsured car with your car and the owner or operator of the uninsured car must be identified in order for payment to be made.
In Illinois, this coverage provides a maximum of $15,000 per accident and is subject to a $250 deductible. In Indiana, two coverage amounts are available, $10,000 and $25,000, and both are subject to $250 deductible.
Collision Coverage
Collision pays, less your deductible, for damage to your car as a result of an accident with another car or a collision with almost anything else. Collision coverage is available only with a deductible, although there may be times when your deductible is waived. For example, if you have an accident with another driver insured with MemberSelect Insurance Company.
Comprehensive Coverage
Suppose a tree falls on your car, or a stone shatters your windshield. You need protection for that, too. That's where Comprehensive Coverage comes in.
Comprehensive Coverage pays for non-collision-related losses including fire, theft, glass breakage and vandalism, less a deductible. It even provides limited benefits for alternative transportation if your vehicle is ever stolen.
Car Rental Reimbursement Coverage
Reimburses you for rental car usage if your car is out of service over 24 hours, due to a loss covered by your Collision or Comprehensive Coverage. Coverage is available if you have Comprehensive Coverage.
An important money saving tip about deductibles
Your insurance rate depends greatly on the deductibles you choose for your Collision and Comprehensive Coverage.
The higher your deductibles, the greater your savings.
